A carbon shank and extremely light Vibram®-Alp-Trac®-SL outsole reduce the weight further. The end result is a colourful Alpine boot that weighs just 550 grams per boot. Whilst reducing the weight, the moun­tain­eering boot experts kept stability in mind. Other key details include a func­tional dual-zone lacing system and a waterproof GORE-TEX lining.     Why do we have to take the high road?

    High-altitude tours belong to the Olympian class of moun­tain­eering. During tours like these, moun­taineers set off from the valley, take hiking paths, cross rock-covered terrain and trek through snow before reaching steep ice and firn flanks.     Why do we want to go up there?

    No matter whether you are talking about an outdoor sport climbing facility or multi-pitch alpine climbs – climbing exudes an allure, everywhere and at every level of difficulty. Strength, technique, agility and balance are critical factors in determining whether you can cover a route or not.     Why do we look up and not down?

    Via ferrata are iron routes built on mountains. The route is usually well marked with a permanently installed steel cable. It’s a source of great adventure. Fixed steel pegs and ladders are used in places that are too steep or rock faces that lacks sufficient structure. In addition to normal via ferrata equipment, climbers need the right footwear.

The ALPINE SL GTX has a CLIMBING ZONE. This is a flat component in the front sole area that facil­itates easy climbs.
