    Special missions are law enforcement oper­ations conducted by tactical units on variable terrain for the purpose of fighting terrorism, rescuing hostages and enforcing arrest warrants.     Descend safely.

    Fast roping is a quicker technique than abseiling. Fast roping involves mission forces sliding down a rope from heli­copters without using descenders. The method enables mission forces to land on ships and to be introduced to hard-to-reach terrain or developed areas. Because of the friction produced by rope sliding, the medial side of the boot must be equipped with heat protection. Similar to footwear worn during para­chuting, the boots must have such special features as closed lace-up hooks and good heel cush­ioning to lessen the impact of landing.

    Turns every landing into a pleasure.

    Para­chuting involves a range of different jumps from aero­planes to introduce troops to areas of operation. Such missions can involve jumps made at low altitudes with round para­chutes that open auto­mat­ically or military freefalls with parafoils and occa­sionally heavy rucksacks. Para­chuting places some special demands on footwear worn during such missions. Important features include closed hooks to prevent the hooks from becoming caught in suspension lines, good heel cush­ioning and a stable upper to prevent injuries during landing.

The Z-6N GTX C is equipped with a LOWA RUBBER OUTSOLE. Conceived by LOWA to meet the chal­lenges of real-world use, the profile design is made from an optimised rubber compound. The result is a rubber outsole with good traction in the back­country and off trail.

The special profile design of the LOWA® TACTICAL Z TRAC® impresses users with its good support and grip that is delivered even on chal­lenging terrain. The sole optimised for fast-roping missions combines heat- and cold-insu­lating qualities. It is anti­static and resistant to oil, petrol and contact heat as well.

STABILITY FRAME Comfortably framed

With the LOWA-MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the Z-6N GTX C provides the very best comfort. This three-dimen­sional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and support it when the shoe wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a STABILITY FRAME.

DOUBLE INJECTION Upper and sole become a fixed unit

To provide effective cush­ioning and improved comfort, the sole of the Z-6N GTX C is bonded to the upper in a tech­nically demanding injection process. The upper boot is placed into a specially designed mould. Various layers of PU foam padding are then poured into it. In the process, the sole and upper are bonded together.

  • Light­weight
    This process uses a plastic called poly­urethane. It is a very light­weight foam padding.

  • Cush­ioning
    The plastic called poly­urethane is a foam padding that has very good cush­ioning prop­erties. The plastic retains its form and springs back to its original condition even when its millions of tiny bubbles are frequently pressed together. This, in turn, creates a good rebound effect.

  • A wide range of design options
    Thanks to direct injection, the sole can be designed in a very large number of ways. The multi­faceted prop­erties of the materials used enable the shoes to be effective in a broad number of areas.

To create optimal cush­ioning and the very best comfort, the soles of LOWA multi­func­tional shoes are directly injected. The complex injection process attaches the slip-lasted upper directly to the sole. This method creates shoes that offer optimal cush­ioning and are partic­ularly light­weight.
