Why do we want to go up there?

No matter whether you are talking about an outdoor sport climbing facility or multi-pitch alpine climbs – climbing exudes an allure, everywhere and at every level of difficulty. Strength, technique, agility and balance are critical factors in determining whether you can cover a route or not. Usually, a climber attempts a set climbing route on a rock face or in the climbing gym. To prevent falls, the climber is generally secured by a rope held by a climbing partner.

“Competitive climbing has a very particular aura to it. I have been in the German national team for two years now. Representing my country in competition makes me proud and motivates me to keep improving. If you have footwear that doesn’t let you down, that makes the hard, rigorous training all the more enjoyable. That means I can put in my best possible performance during competition. Climbing is a great alternative to mountaineering.”

    • High-friction sole
A good sole for a climbing shoe will produce a high degree of friction and and thereby perfectly mould the shoe to the surface of the rock or climbing wall.

    • Fit
For the wearer to be able to stand on the narrowest of edges, the shoe must perfectly fit and optimally encase the foot.

    • Generalist
Routes taken in climbing often vary significantly. For the shoe to perfectly meet every challenge, it should be designed with a broad range of uses in mind.

    Where will your route lead?

Bouldering is defined as climbing close to the ground and without ropes . It can be performed on natural boulders or in climbing gyms on artificial climbing walls. When bouldering outside, a crashpad is used to prevent injuries should a climber fall. In climbing gyms, mats are permanently installed. Classic pieces of equipment for bouldering include climbing shoes and a chalk bag.
