SUSTAINABLE ENCOUNTERS ON THE MOUNTAIN

Nina Ruhland's enthusiasm and passion for the mountains were already apparent at a young age. Influenced by countless family holidays in the Sauerland, Nina was able to find her joy in hiking and the mountains at an early age. In an interview with presenter Andi Christl, the trained mountain hiking guide talks about forest bathing and the positive effects that result from it. The new episode of our podcast "Bergmomente by LOWA" also looks at how Nina decided to quit her permanent job at an editorial office in Hamburg a few years ago and what her parents initially thought of this decision. The founder of the "Bergbegegnungen" agency, the first mountain school for sustainable mountain experiences, also looks at the consequences of increasing alpinism and explains why she believes a realistic self-assessment is important. Have fun listening in!

  • GUEST: NINA RUHLAND

Nina Ruhland, founder and owner of Bergbegegnungen, the first agency for sustainable mountain experiences, was born on 2 May 1980 in Kamen in the Ruhr region. Her parents instilled in Nina a love of hiking and nature. In the family's small holiday flat in a forester's lodge in the Sauerland, Nina spent carefree childhood days full of outdoor lightness: playing in the woods, learning forest basics with the forester, swimming in the stream almost every day (or falling in unintentionally), failing to ride cows and always, always going on lots of hikes. During the holidays, we either went to the North Sea or to the Alps. And I fell in love with the mountains.
