Jetzendorf/Ebermannstadt, 1 August – On behalf of the German Ultramarathon Association (DUV) and in cooperation with the German Athletics Association (DLV), the LOWA Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz will host the German Ultratrail Championships for the first time on 26 April 2025.

Since its premiere in 2022, the LOWA Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz has firmly established itself in the German trail running scene. With its unique charm, breathtaking scenery and challenging routes, the race has become one of the most important events in national trail running. The decision by the DUV and DLV to organise the German Championships here in 2025 confirms the steadily growing importance of the event.

‘We are proud that we have managed to establish the LOWA Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz as a first-class trail running destination. The decision to host the German Championships 2025 is confirmation of our efforts to position this region as an outstanding venue for top-class competitions,' says Johannes Hendel, member of the organisation committee.
LOWA CEO Alex Nicolai welcomes the decision: ‘As the main sponsor of the event, we are delighted that the LOWA Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz will be hosting the German Ultratrail Championships next year. This is a credit to the outstanding work of recent years and takes the event to a new level. We expect that this will attract even more top athletes and bring additional attention to the event.’

Anyone who wants to take on the challenge and compete in the 4th LOWA Ultratrail Fränkische Schweiz 2025 should mark the start of registration on 3 October 2024 in their calendar.
