From Oberzarten, the Westweg climbs up to the Feldberg (1,493 metres above sea level), the highest elevation of all the German low mountain ranges. The route leads steadily up and down over further Black Forest peaks with many deep views and vistas: Belchen (1,414m), Blauen (1,165m) and then it's mostly downhill again to the end of the stage in Kandern (352m).
