Jetzendorf, 20 January 2026 – LOWA presents the updated version of its sustainability report, which was first published at the end of 2024. The revised edition shows how the company continues to expand its responsibility along the value chain and strengthens key areas such as supply chain, climate protection, and organizational development.
LOWA is consistently continuing its path in the supply chain: now in its third year as a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, the company underscores its commitment to fair working conditions and responsible production processes. Regular assessments of social standards and the systematic derivation of improvement measures are now firmly embedded in operational procedures.
At the production site in Bošany (Slovakia), LOWA is advancing its climate protection measures with noticeable impact. A new photovoltaic system covering around 9,200 square meters supplies up to 90 percent of the site’s electricity needs at full capacity. In 2023, the site accounted for roughly half of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions; by 2027, these emissions are to be reduced by half. In the first two months of operation alone, the PV installation has already saved around 100 tons of CO₂.
At the same time, the update highlights the continuous development of the organization. Updated indicators on employees, employment types, diversity, and occupational safety illustrate how LOWA is adapting its structures to the growing demands of responsible corporate governance.
“With the update, we show where we are making concrete progress — and where we continue to work consistently,” says Alexander Nicolai, CEO of LOWA Sportschuhe GmbH. “Fair conditions in the supply chain, a significantly reduced CO₂ footprint, and a strong organization are key building blocks for an ecologically and socially sustainable future.”
All data has been updated in accordance with the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This ensures clear comparability, makes progress measurable, and facilitates the identification of further improvement potential.
