The Fidibus summer (hiking bus) takes you quickly to the starting point in Neuberg. The path up the Gerzkopf leads through a quiet, unspoilt and pristine landscape. Through the fairytale spruce forest, you reach a dense belt of mountain pines, in which the Gerzkopf moors are embedded as small natural jewels. These are unique in the province of Salzburg and are of particular ecological value. From the summit, hikers can enjoy a marvellous view over the Gosaukamm, the Dachstein massif, the Tennengebirge and the Niedere Tauern. The striking Bischofsmütze dominates the view to the east, with the peaks of the Hohe Tauern towering in the distance. There is a Fidisbus stop directly in front of the Neubergerhof to get back to Filzmoos. The Schäferhütte is open from the beginning of June to the beginning of September (only in good weather).
