Engelberg is located in the heart of Switzerland and is easy to reach from all directions. The town itself is characterised by its long cheese-making tradition. In Engelberg there is the Alp Cheese Trail, on which you pass eight cheese dairies and learn all about cheese production and the end product. For example, at Alp Surenen, where the likeable Florian Spichtig produces his award-winning cheeses with passion and skill, which he impresses not only the little ones in our hiking video. The hike on the Alp Cheese Trail also offers a beautiful and spectacular mountain backdrop - including on the family-friendly day stage from Fürenalp to Alp Surenen. To ensure that the hike is also fun for the little ones, the best way to get to Fürenalp and from Usser Äbnit to Stäfeli is on one of the region's typical "Buiräbähnli" trains. On the way back along the Engelberger Aa, there is certainly enough time to dip your feet in the cold water or pile up a "Steimännli".
