Hiking from San Salvatore to Morcote is a feast for all the senses. You can't get enough of the magnificent 360-degree panorama that you can enjoy from Monte Salvatore. The beguiling scents of the sea of flowers in Parco San Grato near Carona or in Parco Scherrer in Morcote will have you revelling between April and August. The glass of Merlot wine from the Castello Morcote vineyard, served by host Gaby Gianini together with local delicacies in the gourmet restaurant on Alpe Vicania, smells just as tantalising. The peace and quiet beforehand in the chestnut woods of Monte Arbòstora is almost complete; all you can hear is the cheerful chirping of the birds or the rustling of the wind in the treetops. When you dangle your feet in the waters of Lake Lugano in Morcote - the former fishing village that was voted the most beautiful village in Switzerland in 2016 - you realise that nowhere else can you combine pleasure and hiking as excellently as in Ticino.
