  • HIGH DURABILITY COMBINED WITH GRIP

The Vibram SpringLug sole combines exceptional durability with grip and traction. The sole is extremely adaptable and hard-wearing on uneven terrain. At the same time, it also offers valuable comfort on long mountain hikes.

  • STABILITY THANKS TO CARBON

In the LOWA® CERVINO GTX, the sole has been enhanced with a carbon-fibre-reinforced mid-layer. This gives the boot excellent stability.

  • PRECISE LACING SYSTEM

A perfectly fitting hiking boot is essential for any hike. That’s why the LOWA® CERVINO GTX is fitted with a two-zone lacing system. This allows the upper and forefoot to be secured separately. The deep pull tab prevents tension from being transferred from the forefoot to the upper. The roller hooks allow the laces to glide smoothly.

    • What sort of terrain is the LOWA® CERVINO GTX designed for?

The CERVINO GTX is a technical mountaineering boot designed for mixed terrain. This means it really comes into its own on rocky ridges, firn fields and moderate glaciers. The stiff sole construction ensures stability on any surface.

    • What does ‘conditionally crampon-compatible’ mean?

When it comes to mountaineering boots, a distinction is made between ‘partially’ and ‘fully’ crampon-compatible boots. The LOWA® CERVINO GTX falls into the first category. This means it has a sturdy support built into the heel, onto which the lever arm of a crampon can be attached. Compared to a fully crampon-compatible mountaineering boot, a conditionally or semi-crampon-compatible boot has no support at the front. This means that the crampons are attached there using so-called baskets or straps.

    • Is the LOWA® Cervino GTX insulated?

No, the LOWA® CERVINO GTX does not have a thermal insulation layer. Mountaineering boots in this category rarely feature insulation layers, as they are primarily designed for tours in rocky terrain rather than for classic high-altitude tours over snow and ice in cold temperatures. The Gore-Tex® lining provides a certain degree of basic warmth, but does not offer active protection against the cold.

    • What are the benefits of a carbon-reinforced midsole?

Stability, improved power transfer and precision are the three main advantages of a carbon-reinforced midsole. The extremely lightweight yet stiff material gives the mountaineering boot exceptional rigidity. This makes it easier to navigate even small footholds and ridges. Furthermore, the even distribution of pressure across the entire foot helps prevent premature fatigue.

    • What is Vibram SpringLug technology?

The Vibram SpringLug Tech is a modern sole technology from the renowned Italian sole manufacturer. Developed specifically for technical mountaineering boots, it combines cushioning, grip and adaptability on uneven terrain. It is extremely abrasion-resistant and lightweight. The special lug layout provides perfect grip on both ascents and descents.
