Description

As a mid-cut version of its low-cut approach brother, the DELAGO GTX MID Ws impresses with the familiar benefits of a high-quality LOWA trekking shoe. The perforated upper made from durable suede has a sporty look and conveys the athletic character of the shoe. Thanks to its minimalist tongue construction and comfortable textile collar, the DELAGO GTX MID Ws boasts a perfect fit and the necessary level of stability and support. The latter is also thanks to the abrasion-resistant heel cap and the hard rubber-like scree guard in the forefoot area. The lacing system, which is pulled far forward and consists of textile pull loops and lightweight hooks, allows the lacing to be individually adjusted to suit any situation and emphasises the sporty nature of the boot. The innovative sole system made of cushioning LOWA® DYNAPU®+ and the revised Vibram outsole, which with its CLIMBING ZONE also enables easy climbing passages, is well-known. This makes the DELAGO GTX MID Ws ideal for easier mountain hikes, more demanding trekking or multi-day hikes with a heavy backpack. The shoe is manufactured at LOWA's headquarters in Jetzendorf near Munich using the traditional cemented construction method and is resoleable.

    • When can I wear the DELAGO?

      As a trekking shoe with approach features, the DELAGO is suitable for a wide variety of tours - from mountain meadows to climbing passages. Thanks to its optimised construction, it remains comfortable even on longer hikes. This makes the DELAGO the perfect companion for easier mountain hikes, more demanding mountaineering or multi-day hikes with luggage.

    • Does the DELAGO also offer grip in wet conditions?

      The DELAGO offers good grip even in wet conditions. The revised Vibram sole with triangular tread is designed for versatile terrain. In addition, the special Vibram rubber compound remains grippy in all weather conditions.

    • What is the approach when hiking?

      The approach is the route from the starting point (e.g. car park, bus stop, valley station or hut) to the start of the actual mountain or climbing route. This path often crosses a wide variety of terrain - from mountain meadows to scree - so good footwear is a must.

    • Are approach shoes suitable for hiking?

      Yes, an approach shoe like the DELAGO can be used for hiking. The sole is also designed so that you can stand on small ledges with the Climbing Zone, which also makes more challenging passages possible. The high shaft provides stability for the ankle, making longer tours and even multi-day hikes with luggage possible.

    • Are ankle-high hiking boots better?

      Every shoe has its area of use, but this does not make them better or worse. Ankle-high hiking boots are better suited to demanding terrain and longer tours as they offer more stability around the ankle.
