Rahel Schönauer

Rahel Schönauer was born on 6 January 1994 in beautiful Appenzell. From an early age, she spent a lot of time in the mountains and in nature with her family. Rahel quickly discovered her passion for climbing.

After secondary school, she completed an apprenticeship as a retail specialist and then spent three years travelling and working every six months.

During the years 2016-2020, Rahel settled in the Grisons town of Chur, where she worked at the "Ap'n Daun" climbing centre. From 2017-2019, she was also part of the SAC Women's Expedition Team and was able to experience even more beautiful, challenging and instructive moments in the mountains.

"I love the thrill of running over a highline. I also enjoy mountain biking in the summer."
