Ulligunde,
HOW DID YOU GET THE IDEA TO FOUND ULLIGUNDE.COM?
"My brother gave me the idea. I set off on a four-month trekking trip through Oceania alone in 2010 and he suggested I start a "blog" to keep those back home up to date. I didn't even know what it was, but I soon found that I really enjoyed describing my adventures and adding photos, and I kept it up even after the trip. It was mainly about trekking and tent tours in the mountains. Two years later, I discovered by chance that it was no longer just my family who were reading along, but a few thousand other people. I started to use social networks for the blog and entered into my first collaborations. At some point, the question arose as to whether a unique name was needed instead of this age-old nickname from school days. But then again - why actually? In the meantime, the somewhat strange name has become my "brand" and has secured my independence for over two years. I never planned that it would end up like this. So I'm all the more pleased about this incredibly exciting time."
WHAT MAKES A GOOD BLOG PARTNERSHIP FOR YOU?
"Trust, appreciation and the fact that you simply "get on well together" on a human level. It often happens that you are perceived more as an advertising platform or a cheap content producer - so it is all the more pleasant when manufacturers, shops and destinations recognise the respective strengths of the blog(ger) and know how to use them creatively. Personally, it's important to me that the goals and needs of the cooperation are clear, but that I have as free a hand as possible in the realisation - this produces the most creative and beautiful results."
WHICH PLACES, SUMMITS OR TRAVEL DESTINATIONS ARE AT THE TOP OF YOUR "I STILL WANT TO GO THERE" LIST?
"This may sound strange, but together with my boyfriend, I fulfilled the last three big items on my wish list last year: Mountaineering in Chamonix (Devil's Ridge), climbing in America (Yosemite Valley, Utah) and a few specific tours in the Dolomites. What's still to come? I have to make new plans! In February, I was in South Africa with fellow blogger FRÄULEIN DRAUSSEN on a really challenging six-day trail through unspoilt rainforest. It was a lot of fun (at least in retrospect) and brought me back to the roots of my blog - which is now mainly about mountain sports. Of course, I'd love to go to Patagonia (actually trekking rather than climbing) and to Utah again, but I wouldn't mind an extensive road trip through the local Alps either. In our favourite mountain range alone - the Dolomites - I could easily spend a whole year without getting bored."
