From the Alps to the Amazon Rainforest

“Lowa takes you from sea level to the highest peak” has long been a slogan used by Lowa to showcase the versatility of its outdoor footwear. Today, however, this range of environments expands to include a more unusual landscape: the Amazon rainforest.

For the first time, Lowa is partnering with 3Bmeteo, one of Italy's leading weather forecasting platforms, in its “Amazon Mission” project, aimed at raising public awareness of climate change issues. This initiative is the second chapter in the platform’s environmental commitment (in 2023, the team explored Greenland); the Amazon was chosen because it’s the largest rainforest in the world, home to 13% of Earth's trees, and is therefore an invaluable natural resource for climate regulation. However, this region is also among the most threatened by human activity, with an average of 12,000 square kilometers of rainforest destroyed each year over the past 30 years. This makes it a symbolic location for the future of the planet, where deforestation and its effects on climate change can be witnessed.

A team of six people, including meteorologists, scientists, and communication professionals, will be documenting the effects of climate change from November 3 to 20 in one of the most fascinating yet fragile places on Earth. On their feet are some of Lowa's most durable models, like the CAREZZA GTX LO and FORTUX GTX, designed to provide maximum support during the Amazon adventure.
