Jetzendorf/Bošany, 24 June 2025 - LOWA is consistently driving forward the expansion of renewable energies: Following the successful use of photovoltaics at the headquarters in Jetzendorf, where around 60 percent of the company's electricity requirements are already covered by its own PV systems, the Slovakian production site in Bošany has now also been comprehensively modernised.
A new photovoltaic system with an area of 9,200 square metres has recently gone into operation there. At full capacity, it covers around 90 per cent of the site's daily electricity requirements. It makes a significant contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions that arise in the direct area of influence - specifically Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. As part of its comprehensive sustainability strategy, LOWA Sportschuhe GmbH has set itself the goal of halving these emissions by 2027.
"Investing in PV electricity is a logical step for us on the way to climate-friendly production. We are taking responsibility - not only for our products, but also for the way we manufacture them," explains Alexander Nicolai, CEO of LOWA Sportschuhe GmbH.
