Wiesensteig

The route leads over meandering rivers and through beautiful landscapes. A variety of refreshment stops at the Renchtalhütte, the Griesbacher Wasserstation and the Höhengasthaus Herbstwasen offer cosy breaks.

The tour starts at the Wiesensteig portal at the Weiherplatz hiking car park in Bad Griesbach. Turn right before the dam of the old pond complex to the bed of the Wilde Rench stream. There you cross the Wilde Rench several times until you reach the Fischfelsenhütte - Wiesensteig portal "Renchtalhütte". Within sight of this portal is the hut of the same name, which invites you to take a cosy break. From the "Renchtalhütte" portal, the trail continues steadily downhill, past the Oberkirch wine fountain in the historic Brunnenhäusle, to the Haus Wilde Rench. There, hikers can refresh themselves at the Griesbach water station or treat themselves to a homemade liqueur. Then cross the road and change sides of the valley. From here, the route continues - with a crisp ascent in places and a refreshing break at the Alpirsbach "Bierbrunnen" - to the Höhengasthaus Herbstwasen (refreshment stop) - from there down to the banks of the Rench - back to the starting point at Weiherplatz.
