Product & Safety Information

Before heading out on your first adventure with your new shoes, we would like to share some important information with you.

The following safety information highlights certain risks associated with the use of your product. Please note, however, that it is not possible to describe every conceivable situation or source of danger in full. You are responsible for following these instructions and for using the product appropriately.

Detailed information about your product and its intended areas of use can be found at lowa.com.

Any improper use may involve additional risks and hazards. If you are unsure, do not fully understand something, or have questions about the intended area of use, please contact LOWA directly or the responsible LOWA subsidiary in your country.

Information about our country representatives and importers can also be found at lowa.com.

WARNING! Mountain sports involve inherent risks and hazards and require personal responsibility. You are responsible for your actions, decisions, and safety. Before setting out, make sure you are informed about the intended area of use, the level of difficulty, and local conditions.

  • Your LOWA shoes are designed to accompany you on a wide variety of trails. Every tour places different demands on both the wearer and the equipment. Therefore, we recommend checking your shoes for damage and excessive wear before every tour.

Lace your shoes carefully and secure any loose lace ends to prevent them from catching or creating a tripping hazard. On shoes with speed lacing systems, a dedicated lace storage feature is provided for this purpose.

  • Grip is not always the same

Sole traction can vary depending on the surface, weather conditions, temperature, and level of wear. Extra caution is required on smooth surfaces, wet rocks, roots, metal grates, ice, or snow.

The right shoe for the right purpose

Every LOWA shoe has been developed for specific applications. Choosing the right model is crucial for comfort, performance, and safety. If you have questions about whether a model is suitable for your intended use, or if you are unsure about its application, your LOWA specialist retailer or our customer service team will be happy to assist you.

Materials change over time

Even high-quality materials age over time. Leather develops its own unique character, while sole materials may change their properties through use and environmental exposure. Therefore, we recommend having your LOWA shoes inspected by a specialist retailer or our Re-Boot team after approximately five years.

Warranty & Claims

If your LOWA shoes develop a material or manufacturing defect, please contact the retailer from whom you purchased them. They will determine whether the issue is covered under warranty and will handle the next steps. For repairs outside of warranty coverage, our Re-Boot team will be happy to assist you.

Important Information Regarding PPE Certification

Not every LOWA shoe is approved for professional use as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Only models with the appropriate CE marking comply with the requirements of European Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and may be used as personal protective equipment in professional environments. All other LOWA shoes have been developed for leisure, outdoor activities, hiking, and trekking and are not certified as personal protective equipment.
