Trekking Tour over the Harder Ridge

The funicular railway takes you from Interlaken to Harder station in just ten minutes on an average gradient of 64%. this saves you 570 metres in altitude. Nevertheless, Switzerland's most beautiful ridge hike over the Hardergrat is a tough one - you can expect to spend five hours hiking. The reward is an incredible view of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. And on particularly clear days, the triumvirate consisting of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau seems close enough to touch. It's no wonder that the hike over the Hardergrat is praised as one of the ten most beautiful hikes in the world and therefore belongs on every hiker's bucket list. One person who needs no convincing in this respect is multiple ski cross World Cup winner Ryan Regez, who accompanies us on this hike and, in his likeable manner, provides the most convincing proof that hiking is anything but boring.

Harderbahn valley station in Interlaken Ost (566 m) - take the mountain railway to Harder (1305 m) - Harderkulm (1321 m) - follow the hiking signposts and over the Hardergrat to the Augstmatthorn (2101 m) - from here descend to Alp Lombach (1559 m) and take the Postbus back to Interlaken
