LOWA PRO TEAM
Luka LindiÄŤ is a Slovenian climber and alpinist. The modest young climber was already fascinated by the mountains as a child. When he started climbing, he knew that he wanted to pursue it with ambition. From the very beginning, he trained meticulously and systematically, gaining speed and efficiency. This allowed him to build a solid foundation to take on some of the toughest walls on the planet.
Lindič climbed Broad Peak in the Karakoram and two weeks later he climbed the north-west ridge of Gasherbrum IV and reached its north summit. He also managed a solo ascent of the Intégrale de Peuterey ridge on Mont Blanc in just 15.5 hours. Alpinist Lindič was honoured with the Piolet d'Or in 2014 for the first ascent of Hagshu on the north face in India. Luka Lindič holds a master's degree in logistics and is a member of the Slovenian police sports unit.
"In recent years, I have felt the need to take more responsibility for the environment and the problems of our society. Taking up high-quality, environmentally friendly projects and trying to travel less are becoming my priorities. I am constantly surprised by what is just around the corner in the mountains if you just open your eyes. For some years now, I have therefore spent most of my time in Berchtesgaden, where I have made my home with my wife Ines Papert."
FACTS & DATA
Luka Lindic,
WHAT MAKES MOUNTAIN SPORTS FASCINATING FOR YOU?
"I can't say why I chose mountain sports. I really enjoyed life on the mountain right from the start. Especially because of its uncompromising nature. You simply can't fool yourself on the mountain - you can only get to the top if you really have what it takes."
WHAT POSITION DOES SPORTS CURRENTLY HAVE IN YOUR LIFE?
"Sport has a very high value in my life because it fulfils me both physically and mentally. But mountaineering is definitely different to football or jogging, for example. Alpinism always involves risk. That's why I don't always have to train at the limit and can easily skip a day or two and then step on the gas again when the conditions on the mountain are right.
WHAT WOULD A PERFECT DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
"If I've climbed a difficult route and I feel like I've done it not because of luck, but because of skill, then it's a perfect day."
