LOWA PRO TEAM
Hans Kammerlander has been one of the elite alpinists for years. The state-certified mountain and ski guide has already climbed a total of 12 eight-thousanders around the world, seven of which he climbed together with Reinhold Messner. His outstanding achievements make him a unique athlete on the mountain sports scene.
Hans Kammerlander gives numerous slide presentations throughout Europe every year and has also made a name for himself as an author. However, one of his biggest projects is probably the film he co-produced, "Manaslu - The Mountain of Souls", which premiered at the end of 2018 and provides a very special insight into the mountaineer's adventures as well as a look behind the scenes of Hans Kammerlander as a person.
FACTS & DATA
Hans Kammerlander,
HOW HAS SPORT CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
"Sport has broadened my horizons and through it I have always discovered new goals and that is important."
WHAT DO YOU ALWAYS TAKE WITH YOU ON YOUR EXPEDITIONS? WHAT COULD YOU NEVER MISS?
"I always have my Tibetan Xi stone with me, a gift from Reinhold Messner after our first expedition together. South Tyrolean SchĂĽttelbrot and bacon are also usually in my luggage."
WHAT DOES YOUR PERFECT DAY LOOK LIKE?
"Taking my VW Beetle, registered on 6 December 1956 (my date of birth), for a leisurely drive in the Dolomites, climbing there and the joy of driving home again in this fantastic car."
WHICH DAY TOUR CAN YOU RECOMMEND AND WHY?
"A tour around the Three Peaks in the Dolomites, which offer a breathtaking mountain backdrop. A hike there is always an experience. If you really want to enjoy it, you should come out of season, e.g. at the end of September/beginning of October. Then it's wonderfully quiet there and you can enjoy the day to the full."
