15.06.2019 | Friendly exchanges, good conversations and plenty of climbing in the best weather: the "Who's Who" of the mountain sports scene once again did the honours at the 2019 LOWA Athletes' Meeting. LOWA develops new alpine boots together with its team of athletes.
Athletes from the LOWA PRO and ACTIVE teams spent three days together with a colourful group of LOWA employees, mountain guides and blog partners putting the latest development from the LOWA shoe forge through its paces - or in this case, soles and laces.
HIKE ON THE WILD EMPEROR
After a scenic hike on the Wilder Kaiser up to the hut, the first day was dedicated to the first contact with the new developments. The group - consisting of mountaineering greats such as Hans Kammerlander, Simon Gietl, Ralf Dujmovits, Ines Papert and Rudi Hauser - first went to the "house wall" of the VorderkaiserfeldenhĂĽtte in imperial weather. In addition to fit and comfort, the grip of the shoes was naturally high on the test list. A breathtaking sunset heralded the end of the first evening. Back at the hut, the theory followed: together we tinkered, tweaked, exchanged ideas - and most importantly - laughed a lot.
CLIMBING IN THE STONE PIT CUTTER
The following day, the knowledge gained was extensively tested and deepened. In the Steingrubenschneid climbing area, a wealth of climbing knowledge was put to good use. Completely in their element, the team eagerly set about exploring the limits and scrutinising every detail. After a successful day of climbing, the evening was rounded off with a moving and impressive presentation by LOWA PRO team athlete Simon Gietl.
As the third day dawned, the productive and eventful time slowly came to an end and it was time to say goodbye - until the next athletes' meeting, when LOWA will once again put the latest prototypes to the test with the mountain sports stars.
